In the article “CSU to study herbal supplements for arthritic dogs” by: Monte Whaley, they study 36 dogs with arthritics and give them the same supplements that humans take for pain relief. At Colorado State University they gave the dogs supplements to relieve the pain and it just that. They successfully relieved the pain of the dogs, but Dr. Narda Robinson said, “…there are concerns of long-term side effects of these drugs, such as such as gastric ulcers, bleeding, abdominal pain, and kidney or liver damage.” These are some ways that CSU is studying to see if human narcotics on arthritic dogs can relieve their pain just like it does on humans
